Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Sermon Flow ("the Service," "we," "our," or "us"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including organizations, churches, and individuals accessing the Service on behalf of an organization.
2. Description of Service
Sermon Flow is an AI-powered sermon processing platform designed to help churches and religious organizations. Upon uploading a sermon video, the Service automatically:
- Transcribes audio using AI transcription technology
- Generates short-form highlight video clips with captions
- Produces small group guides, devotional guides, and long-form articles
- Creates social media post copy for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X
- Recommends worship songs matched to sermon themes
- Provides sermon analytics including thematic and emotional analysis
- Generates shareable public URLs for guides and articles
All AI-generated content is produced using large language models (including OpenAI's GPT models). While we strive for quality and accuracy, AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, or imprecisions and should be reviewed by you before distribution. Sermon Flow does not warrant the theological accuracy, doctrinal alignment, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content.
3. User Accounts
To use the Service, you must register for an account using your email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and complete information during registration and onboarding
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
- Upload content that infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service's infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
- Use the Service to train competing AI models or products
- Share account credentials or allow unauthorized users to access your account
5. Content Ownership and Licensing
Your Content: You retain full ownership of all sermon videos, audio, documents, and other original content you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant Sermon Flow a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, transmit, and generate derivative works from Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.
AI-Generated Outputs: All transcripts, clips, guides, articles, social media posts, and other materials generated by the Service from Your Content ("Generated Content") are provided to you for your use. You are responsible for reviewing Generated Content before distribution.
Public Sharing: The Service allows you to generate public shareable URLs for guides and articles. When you activate a public share link, the associated content becomes accessible to anyone with that URL. You are solely responsible for managing which content is shared publicly and for any consequences of that sharing.
Third-Party Content: If your sermon incorporates copyrighted third-party material (music, readings, video clips, etc.), you are solely responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate rights to upload, process, and distribute that content.
6. Third-Party Processing
To provide the Service, your content and data are processed by the following third-party services:
- OpenAI: Sermon transcript text is sent to OpenAI's API to generate guides, articles, social media posts, and analytics. OpenAI's use of data is governed by their API data usage policy.
- DigitalOcean Spaces: Uploaded sermon videos, generated clips, logos, and documents are stored in DigitalOcean's object storage service.
- Stripe: All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
- SendGrid: Transactional emails (account notifications, processing updates, billing communications) are sent via SendGrid.
By using the Service, you consent to your content being processed by these third parties as necessary to provide the Service. We select service providers who maintain commercially reasonable data security standards.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy governs our collection, use, and handling of your personal information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Content Retention and Deletion
To manage storage and service costs, Sermon Flow automatically retires sermon content on the following schedule:
- Uploaded sermon videos, generated clips, and associated files are automatically deleted approximately 12 months after the sermon's upload date
- Transcripts, guides, and other text-based generated content may be retained for a longer period for analytics and account history purposes
You are responsible for downloading or backing up any content you wish to retain beyond this period. We are not liable for any loss of content resulting from this automatic retirement schedule. You may also manually delete any sermon or generated content at any time from within your account.
10. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Processing times for sermon uploads vary depending on file size, queue depth, and system load. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned outages, or factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any damages resulting from service unavailability.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI-generated content, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sermon Flow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) any AI-generated content produced by the Service; (c) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; or (d) any other matter relating to the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount paid by you to Sermon Flow in the twelve months preceding the claim.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we determine is harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties. You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@getsermonflow.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, and we may delete your content in accordance with our data retention practices.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will notify users by email or by posting a prominent notice in the Service, and by updating the "Last updated" date above.
